Becky - You manage to pack into a few frames the same moral-development arc as the one used in Charlotte's Web. But yours is full of exuberance and joy! Wonderful work and, man, your models can't be beat! - Jim
Rebecca, your work is amazing! I love coming back, re-reading all of your stories and then being able to look at Hank in book format. Keep the wonderful work coming--maybe a Caldecott in your future!
We found your book at our local library yesterday. I was immediately taken in by the beauty, cuteness, and uniqueness of your work. I love that the book is wordless. My daughter (5) and son (6) really enjoyed watching the story unfold the first time we "read" it through together. Thank you for making something so sweet and artistically inspiring! We will keep looking for new books! You have some new fans!
my 2 and a half year old son wanted me to call him Hank and I had no clue why. I then ran into your book at the library and my son was elated, he must have read Hank Finds an Egg at Montessori and decided he wanted to be Hank. FYI Hank can now use a crane truck to get the egg back in the nest:) Thank you for such a creative and imagination inspiring book!
I like the way this 1 is unfolding.
ReplyDeleteThat hank is one smart little fella. WHAT! is he going to do with that egg?
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope he gets the egg back to the nest! I'm on the edge of my seat!
ReplyDeleteEgg Sammich?
ReplyDeletebravo!
ReplyDeleteHank as superhero of the forest, Mr. Do-gooder! Love the angelic birdies flapping their approval. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable! Your friend David Wheeler told me about your site so I took a peek!
ReplyDeleteYay Hank, hero of forest and hummingbirds! I love the little nest package he makes for the egg; so very lovely.
ReplyDeletethat last image...well, it makes me gulp hard and choke back a little emotion at the utter sweetness and appreciation captured in that one!
